2025 About

The conference for Canadian Campus, Community and Indigenous Radio stations (plus a few more), running for over 40 years!

About the NCRC .

The NCRA/ANREC National Campus and Community Radio Conference (NCRC) is the flagship annual gathering for Canada’s campus, community, and Indigenous radio sector. Organized by the National Campus and Community Radio Association (NCRA/ANREC), this event brings together station staff, volunteers, board members, artists, and allies for a week of learning, networking, and celebration.

📚 What to Expect

NCRC43 is a 3-4 day conference, with a full slate of programming and events tailored to station staff, volunteers, board members, artists, media makers, and policy advocates. Some key components include:

  • Workshops on radio production, journalism, digital tools, DEI, governance, and fundraising

  • Panels and Keynotes featuring national and international experts on media, equity, and storytelling

  • The CRABO Awards Gala, celebrating the best in community broadcasting

👥 Who Attends?

  • Station managers, programmers, and staff

  • Radio volunteers, hosts, and journalists

  • Indigenous media and community organizers

  • Podcasters and digital storytellers

💬 Why You Should Attend

NCRC43 isn’t just a conference — it’s a movement of voices, working to make Canada’s media more inclusive, accessible, and community-driven.

Whether you’re looking to learn new skills, shape national policy, or just meet amazing people doing meaningful work, NCRC43 is the place to be.

The first NCRC was held in 1981, and since then, it has traveled to cities and campuses across the country. The conference has evolved from grassroots meet-ups to a robust national platform for knowledge sharing, strategic planning, and sector advocacy.

A Bit of History .

Over the decades, NCRC has launched national campaigns, introduced new technology and training to stations, and created lifelong connections among people passionate about independent media.
