Parking at VIU
Parking Information:
-Pay parking is in effect 12 months of the year, 8 am – 8 pm, Monday through Saturday, including all parking lots on Campus.
-Parking costs $2.71/2 hours to a maximum of $8.67 for 12 hours
-Drivers MUST read the signs that designate parking lots to ensure they have parked in a valid lot for their permit.
-The Parking/Security Office is located in Building 315, Room 110 and is staffed from Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm (except statutory holidays & campus closures).
-Pay Stations in the General parking lots will take MasterCard, VISA.
-VIU has a license plate recognition system for parking. You no longer need to return to your vehicle to display a paper ticket – tickets will be purchased via a pay station or mobile phone using your plate number.
-Employee only lots are open to general parking weekdays after 5 pm and all day Saturday.
-Drivers with a valid handicap parking pass can park in any stall as long as the stall is not restricted or reserved. Restricted or reserved spaces will be indicated. Payment is required.
-Parking for VIU Accommodation guests is included with a paid overnight stay in designated lots.
